No more unsightly scars,

covering your body

and low self-esteem!

Almost all of us have scars. They remind us of various experiences and illnesses of our lives. They may be the remains of smallpox, acne, severe burns, abnormal abrasions or surgical procedures. As long as they are in places where they are not visible, most people do not care for them. But scars in the face, on arms, legs, or other areas do not look nice. Modern scar removal methods, however, can accelerate the healing of scars after surgery, getting rid of new and older scars that do not disappear for a few years.

If you also have a scar that you want to get rid of, make an appointment for a free consultation at PRIMED Clinic and be happy with yourself thanks to our experts!

What types of scars can you encounter?

The scar is a formation that develops in a location where the skin was severely damaged. It is basically a new layer that was made through regeneration. However, this new layer of skin may be lighter or redder. Sometimes the color adapts with time, but at other times it remains visibly different, even spatially.

Scars are divided into two types:

  • Hypertrophic and keloid scar is raised, plastic can be a shade of red to purple.
  • Hypotrophic scar is hollow, forming a recess. Typically, these are acne scars.

As for really large and very protruding scars, they may often not be removed completely, but scar correction may be possible. After the procedure, the scars will be far less visible.

When does scar removal help?

Simply put, scar correction is practically available for anyone. But the only thing we have to say straight is that it can not be expected that the scar will disappear completely.

We always strive for the scar to not be visible at all or at least be less noticeable.

Can complications occur when removing scars?

Complications are relatively rare. An allergic reaction to local anesthesia may occur. For more extensive interventions, you may experience infections, hematoma, or long healing.

The possibilities of correcting and removing scars are plenty so the best will be for you to make an appointment for a free consultation with our specialist. We will definitely find a solution and the result will be a better state of your scar.

What is the preparation before correcting scars like?

The doctor will discuss with you what method of correction is most appropriate for you. He examines your skin evaluates the general health status and describe what you can expect from the intervention itself.

Because it is no complicated surgery, there is no need for preoperative examinations. The intervention is performed outpatient, to avoid unpleasant feelings, anesthetic gel or local anesthesia is applied. Therefore, it is sometimes necessary to stop using drugs affecting blood clotting for 5 days prior to the performance.

How does scar removal work?

It depends on which method is chosen for scar removal. If you decide to have the scar cut after a consultation with the doctor, the scar tissue is simply removed and the wound is then stitched. The resulting scar is then inconspicuous, clean and has no protruding edges.

The method of lipofilling (filling with own fat) is appropriate for recessed scars, atrophic. The fat is gradually applied under the skin which causes the scar to stretch out. The scar is then not so low, and not so conspicuous. For some types of fillers, it is necessary to repeat the procedure after some time varying from case to case.

In any case, the procedure takes about 10 to 30 minutes. Much depends on how big is the area treated.

What to do after the treatment?

It is generally better to remove scars from autumn until spring because you should not have your skin in direct sunlight after the procedure. If necessary, you may get a sunscreen with protective filter SPF 50+ otherwise there might be pigmentation appearing. Avoid visits to the solarium, sauna, and swimming pool, to prevent the scars to get wet for a long time.

It is common for the scar to sting a day or two and is a bit reddish, but over time these side effects disappear. Immediately after the treatment, even pink or red color may appear, but do not worry. If the scar burns too much, you may cool it.
